Bad nipple piercings went through areolas, out years but causing problems during pregnancy
Saw a Dr. Who said I likely had a breast infection cause of my piercings being done wrong. Had them of for years but they were in long enough to leave a small tunnel through both my areolas. The antibiotics made me deathly ill and I couldn’t eat, sleep, function or keep anything(sometimes including the pills) down, so I had to stop taking them 4 days in. Despite that the pain and swelling in my breast(left was worst) improved drastically, but since has come back and worsened even more than before. (Sharp stabbing pains in the areola, got skin around the breast, more swelling than normal and slight redness though I never get too red cause of being super pale skinned.) This is, in my opinion, different to the typical pregnancy breast pain, swelling and heaviness I had experienced previously, and is accompanied by a thick, not liquid, white, foul smelling discharge(like sour milk and infected piercing smell mixed together) that causes more of that sharp shooting pain in my breasts if I don’t squeeze it out. Saw my maternity/antenatal consultant and explained to him the issue, and had a trainee(not the consultant himself) examine my breasts only to say it’s all “normal pregnancy breast issues.” This doesn’t feel right to me, and I’m worried will cause breast infections, mastitis and breastfeeding issues throughout pregnancy and during feeding when the baby arrives, and I fear it hasn’t been looked into or examined properly by a fully trained professional despite my worries. What can I do to resolve this/ get proper answers? Would you all recommend me booking an appointment with my GP/ telling my midwife team at checkup, etc. or is this in fact normal and I just have to learn to live with it? I’m so stressed out! (I have pictures but wasn’t sure they are allowed here so didn’t add them)
