Every Starter Solo Run! Sandshrew! He be proving his haters wrong! 11/587
Hey!! KC here! Again! No, I wasn't expecting to be back here so soon either!
First of all, thanks to the people who were supporting the stream and the run via Twitch. And be prepared, because the YouTube videos are coming! Starting with Pikachu! Probably tomorrow! You can follow the channel already, I'm preparing the banner, etc!
So let's talk about the run! Sandshrew! My beloved golden armadillo! He was actually a fun pokemon to use! Every run was better than the one before, and that's the first time that has happened! (Don't count on the penultimate run, I was just doing a no thinking side run because I was desperate, we will get to that point)
So the run started without anything special, just a bit more knowledge than the run before. And with that, we were good to go. High Horsepower and Dire Claw + Tough Claws as the passive was more than enough to get the run going even without many help at the start.
The first problem of the run came when I realised Ivy had Turtwig, which I didn't bother at the start, but ended up being a huge problem in the run.
The run actually went pretty smoothly, without having to reset that much, didn't have nothing really interesting until very late into the run. I was getting just decent items but nothing worth to mention.
The major problem of the run came before any too crazy item/encounter. Ivy's fight at 145. Torterra 1HKO'd Sandslash, and with the correct order of moves I was managing to survive the first couple of turns, but then Ivy was getting Ray out and I couldn't manage my Rock Slide miss.
So I started farming some candies looking for Mighty Cleave, Sandshrew's last egg move, to try and kill Ray with it, but I was not getting it so I tried again going against Ivy. By rerolling the shop in different levels, I found an X Sp Def which let me survive Torterra's Leaf Storm just with 20 HP. Passed her by stalling Torterra after it's SpAtk drop and then sweeping through the rest of the team.
I was already at 150 and I didn't have any actual good items, but this changed after defeating Team Galaxy's Boss, at 165, where I got Multilens, and in the next wave I got Garbodor's encounter, so I was ready to go and complete the run.
Defeated E4 and Champion without any problems, just setting up with Swords Dance and Sandstorm to activate Sand Rush. This Ivy's fight was much easier than the previous one, forcing Ivy's switch to Ray so I could hit him and finish him off in the next turn.
And there we get to Eternatus fight. I was really really confident going into the fight, and the pangolin's big brother did not disappoint. I changed up the moveset and used High Horsepower, Swords Dance, Protect and Sand Tomb. Just by setting up and healing every turn, got me to use High Horsepower and defeat Eternatus while Sandslash was almost at full HP.
And that's how the run went! You can check the stats here. As always, the support is much appreciated, any comment, like and follow will be high valued and will give me confidence going into the future of this challenge.
Any comment or suggestion you have, don't hesitate on letting me know, every opinion is important.
See you in the next one! Don't forget to come to the streams and be prepared to watch the first YouTube video tomorrow!
Take care and happy new year!
