Every Starter Solo Run. Pikachu! No Evo, No Passive, No Egg Moves. 10/587
Heeyy!!
How's everyone doing? ImWorthy/KC here once again! Today with Pikachu!
I wanna thank everyone that's following the challenge, in Twitch and here! And invite everyone to follow the streams!
So talking about the yellow rat. I gotta say he's performance was quite disappointing. Tho this may be because he had no passive, no egg moves, he wasn't partner form and I decided I wasn't evolving him.
First attempts were quite bad, not getting close to anything and barely surviving the waves to heal back up between them. Yesterday, I got a good run working but as I left the stream, I saved the run for today, and who would have thought, never touched that save file again.
When I woke up this morning, I did a few secondary runs with Pikachu, until I got a partner form. I started the run with the partner form, and I got Dynamax Band at wave 7. Then, I knew this run had potential, and left it for the stream.
NOTE: This is gonna tell you how the run went, if you prefer to check the Twitch VOD, or a possible future YT Video, then go do that, links at the end.
When I was live, I continued this run on wave 8, and first floors were quite easy with my new Partner Pika getting some good luck with the objects at the early stages. At around wave 65, I got a GTS mystery encounter, I traded away my magnet, and I got....... Max Mushrooms!
That was a huge roll, so I got it and had no real problems in a long time, even tho I was thinking about the biomes just in case I got an impossible encounter, because I had no real attacks apart from electric types. That's until, to my surprise, Partner Pikachu learnt Splishy Splash. Didn't even know the existence of this attack, but it being Surf but better was really nice.
To have a coverage against Ground types with Water Absorb, I had Echoed Voice/Grass Knot when I got it. My last attack was Nasty Plot.
The whole run was quite easy, with the biggest thread being Team Skull Guzma and it's Mega Pinsir, it was faster than me, and with a ground attack, it made my heart speed up a couple of times.
I got Blueberry Academy as E4 & Champion, and they weren't a threat to my balloon like Pikachu.
Ivy was actually a threat this run, as her MRayquaza was faster than Pikachu. Managed to get to almost full HP while boosting up thanks to my only healing item, Shell Bell, because I didn't get Garbodor in this run either, and was able to barely survive a MRay attack and destroy him back. With that, I was at Eternatus fight.
Well, actually I killed a Shiny Iron Bundle first, but he wasn't catching, I can't lose my run!
My first idea, was to go with Tera Blast and Psychic Tera, but then I noticed it was partially implemented and I got to think another way of beating it.
My first thought was Light Screen + Reflect + Nasty Plot+ Echoed Voice. This was a good plan, but Eternatus not using Eternabeam at all was making it real hard, and after several tries, I had to try something different.
After thinking about it, I came up with the best possible moveset I could have think of. Protect, Light Screen, Nasty Plot and Pika Papow.
This combat was based on Light Screening to set up with Nasty Plot, and use Protect in the important moments/to change RNG. And oh dear RNG was by my side. Eternatus misses first Eternabeam so I can set up Light Screen and Nasty Plot, all goes to plan. Pika Papow and we are into second stage
Already in second stage, I light Screen and spam Pika Papow, I survived at 2 HP, then Focus Band to 1 HP and then Focus Band to 1 HP again. Now with my reviver seed activating and being prepared to die in the next turn my Pikachu finished off Eternatus in a monstrous fight.
This was a hard challenge, and Pikachu passed it in 13 attempts, not bad for a Pokemon with nothing to start with. You can check how the stats are going.
Oh I almost forgot, we found a wild Epic Shiny Goldeen!
So again, thanks to everyone that's been following the streams and helping out. I make streams with and without voice when I'm just playing while chilling with my gf or something like that, so that's why you sometimes don't hear me in the streams, but I read you anyways and I'll try to answer everytime. You can follow me on twitch , and you can check the VODs there too, or find them in the stats document.
About YouTube, how many of you would be interested in seeing the videos, if I do make them? It would be either just a video of Twitch's VOD winning run, trimming out useless time or if you actually want it, I could trim them out to like an actual shorter video (Idk how long, maybe 10-15 minutes), with me doing voice-over to explain how it went, the thought process or whatever you'd like. Please people who are actually interested in that, comment and give your opinion, it would help a lot, this takes lots of effort haha!
So see you soon! I might stream without voice some Sandshrew (yeah he's the next one) runs now.
Many thanks! Love y'all!
