Going out alone

Hey Im a guy in my early 20s and going through a breakup and was thinking about going to a bar on my own (which ive never done before) to distract myself. Is this a weird thing to do - if not does anyone have an recommendations on where to go have an old fashioned and people would understand why im sitting by myself.. thanks!!
