Is this normal?

Hey, I had the labret for about a month and a a little more than a week, and recently I changed my flat back piece to a ring one, but it's been kinda irritating yesterday and I've noticed that it's been leaving a mark on my lip, so I have some questions. Is this normal? Should I change it back or leave it like this till it stops? Is the ring too small? I've tried searching for some information online but I haven't found any, so this is my last option. If it helps, I wash it everyday at least 3 times. Anyway that's all, it would help me a lot ^{^}
