New Job in Clinical Research

Hey y’all just wanted to share about my new job! For context, I’ve been a PA in the Navy for the last 3 years and some change (2 in ER and 1.5 on an aircraft carrier in FM/UC/Occ med) and I am separating from active duty at the end of this month, new job starts early Dec. TL;DR at the bottom

Job is in the mid-Atlantic. I’ll be a PA/Sub-I in phase 1 clinical research trials with a leading CRO. Mix of physical evals for enrollment/screening, lab/ekg review, medical oversight when nurses are dosing investigational new drugs, admin in the way of protocol review and study/sponsor related tasks. Medical team is 2 physicians, and with me, 4 PAs.

-Salary: 130k, up to 10% bonus based on company performance (last year paid 11%) -Hours: M-Th 7-3, F 7-12, one Sat a month, with a compensatory day off that week. Eventually can do up to 2 days/wk WFH, when I'm spun up on the EMR. -Time-off: RTO which is essentially unlimited PTO, just have to have it coordinated with the team so the work is covered. Separate sick-day accrual. -401k: 100% match up to 3%, 50% match from 4-6% -Medical/Dental/Vision/Tuition reimbursement and other such things

I'm very excited about the job, especially as I am trying to distance from direct patient care and this is a step in that direction - and into the pharma/biotech space. I worked for this company/unit during and after undergrad, and prior to PA school.

TL;DR: Took a new job in phase 1 clinical research as I am transitioning from active duty Navy. I'm excited!
