How do you respond when people say 'Great shot! You must have a very good camera!'?

It's a running joke with my wife and I because I've heard it so many times. People don't realize just how insulting of a statement that is. I was photographing bears a few years back and came back with some great shots. While I was reviewing them one of the people in the group said 'well you take so many pictures you're bound to get a good one'.

I was floored for a moment. She clearly didn't understand how many things you actually need to understand to get a great shot - whether it's wildlife, portrait, still life, BIF, landscape, milky way, astro... name it.

I looked at her, handed her my camera and said 'ok - you try'. That shut her up for a bit.

Have you folks experienced this? And if so what do you say?
