Are motorcycles safe to keep on the street in Perth?

With an attempt not to reveal too much personal information, I live in an apartment in a decently busy, decently fancy part of Perth. I only have one parking spot, which is taken by a car.

I contacted the strata manager who said I'd basically have to make an agreement with another resident to use part of their parking space because everything else is shared space and space is tight, and I don't think that's happening.

I'd love to leave it on the street but motorcycles are easy to nick, especially if they're repeatedly parked in a similar place on the street, and most insurance policies I've read have a clause similar to "Failure to take all reasonable care to protect your motorcycle, its contents and keys". They'd likely try and weasel out of paying for it, and to a degree, that's probably fair. Am I asking for trouble if I just get one anyway and leave it on the street?
