How do you all track and plan your expenses?

Basically, the question.

If you get X amount of money every month as your salary, how do you keep track of how much you’re spending, where/which categories on exactly you’re spending, if and when you’re going overboard. Eg: Suppose you have budgeted 5k for food/order in, how do you track how much more you can spend on food or how much overboard you went?

Given that you could be using, cash, credit UPI, UPI, automatic deductions for OTTs directly from bank etc.

  1. Are there any apps you use for such tracking? If so, which ones and do you like them?
  2. Is there something else you’d want such apps to do which they’re currently not doing?
