How to find a genuine financial advisor?

I have been lurking around this forum for while now, while the post here have been very helpful, but I think I should consult a ‘financial planner’ or similar to better manage my financial decisions.

Here’s what I’m looking at:

  1. Someone who can look at my current NW, understand my priorities, risk exposure and suggest where to invest?
  2. Help with taxation, being NRI this complicates matters
  3. I don’t have time to research / study the market etc., need expert to guide for a fee (not selling specific commission based products)
  4. I do understand there’s always a risk, but I’m assuming the person guiding me does this as his/her core job and better equipped than me.

While I understand I can look at SEBI registered financial planner, but lot of them have cap on NW of 3 crores. Also, they focus more on overall long term journey, not suggesting on which stocks to buy.

So in my case what should I look for? And how to find them? Just Google and try my luck or similar to SEBI’s financial planner approved list, is there similar one for the kind of roles / profiles I’m looking for?

Many thanks. Hope I made sense.
