Greystar charging me $1K for 'cleaning fees' and 'painting' after I did a walkthrough of the apartment upon leaving

Moved out last year and now they just sent me an email collecting $1K.

Upon move out, they walked through the apartment and said it looked good. Now all of a sudden they're charging $1K. $250 for painting and hundreds of dollars for cleaning. I get that I lived in Oakland in California so things are pricey but this is too much.

This is literally insane.

I've technically moved out of the country already and will never rent again in America (fortunately have some money so I live in Manila & Bali and have some properties here and there)

Will this hurt my credit? Can I dispute it?

Could technically pay it but tbh they're super annoying and would rather not give this corporation more money especially since they have terrible service.

Was 25 back then and really had no idea I had to document everything and take videos. So I don't really have proof here....

Lived in California if anyone knows the rules there.
