has anyone else been told nares surgery wouldn’t be effective?
my boyf’s 4 year old persian rescue appears to be pretty badly backyard bred—it’s never been to a point where he’s mouth breathing, but it’s clear he struggles to breathe with such tiny nostrils
during his yearly appts, my boyf asked whether nares surgery could be helpful for the little guy and was told that with his nasal structure it wouldn’t make a difference if he got it
(to preface, i can be a bit skeptical due to issues i faced with multiple vets for my disabled kitten, so please let me know if i’m sounding crazy but) i haven’t been able to find any information online about such a situation where nares surgery just wouldn’t make a difference but to be fair most online discussions seem to be about dog anatomy. i want to try and get a second opinion but wanted to see if anyone else has heard this before, and if you have, what are some alternative ways to help them breathe? thank you :)
