Loving POE2, but the thought of doing this campaign multiple times is exhausting

I’m actually thoroughly enjoying the game. Sure, there is some tuning that needs to be done (default movement speed, enemy health / player damage, loot / currency drop frequency, etc) but the actual bones of the gameplay are great. Obviously this is a first play through and it’s going to take significantly longer + I’m fumbling around with a self-made build, but I have concerns over how fatiguing it’s going to be doing this campaign more than once.

Even with a substantial break between seasons, the checklist of things to do before hitting endgame / “the real game” feels incredibly long. Spending a majority of your time circle strafing and dodge rolling around boss fights or wandering across (very beautifully made!) giant zones at largely default MS doesn’t feel very ARPG to me. I’m sure streamers will be speedrunning it by the end of the beta, but for the mere mortals, I don’t see how this is going to be anywhere near the same speed as the POE1 campaign.

Overall, I think the biggest issue to me is the pacing of everything (how frequently you’re doing bosses vs fighting hordes, your power curve / progression, etc). This is very early feedback / initial impressions and I’m not at all asking for a “skip campaign” button. Doing this once every few months sounds like it’ll be tough but tolerable, but the idea of having to do it on even a single alt during a league sounds honestly unbearable. Curious to hear others’ thoughts on the matter or if anyone has any tips to speed things up (other than “play minions”).
