Became new runescape player at one of the most controversial times in its history and am addicted. This is my possably ignorant thoughts. Whats yours?
I swear when I made this post i had no idea about what was going on in the community and still a little unclear on a lot of it so if you want to fill me in please do
anyway here is a post i made a day or two after my first day playing.
I made this post after getting super into a YouTube (colonello) OSRS history videos, I would watch him while grinding out my mining and smiting. After learning a lot about runescape back in the day i became increasingly curious what was going on in the community today. That and to get some advice and possibly make some friends in the game. After posting and checking my phone a while later i was shocked how many reply's it got, and after further inspection I realized why my post was coming up as the most controversial post of the day. After finding out about the bots, possible subscription tiers, paying for better customer service, in game riots and more i couldn't help but laugh in disbelief not only at my timing but what i asked in the post. I don't blame anyone for thinking it was rage bait even tho it was a genuine post lol.
i'm having so much fun still and i'm now at 20 in game hours. i've been doing more quests now so i could work my way toward the recruitment drive quest so i can become a knight and where the white armor after seeing it as something i could wear after leveling up and it looking super cool. I did one of the prerequisite quest where you need the medium bronz helm and iron chain chest piece to sneak in to that black castle so i could put cabbage in the invincibility potion. the quest was really cool and i ran into a really funny bug with it because i forgot the cabbage after getting in the first time and one of the guards that was a way higher level than me made it out of the room into the front entrance area of the castle. this made it so i couldn't open the door to get to the ladder. The knight kept attacking me when being told by the npc that if i opened the door to the next room the knights in there would attack me like im not already being hit by one. i was saved after someone else spawned in the castle and the knight started attacking them instead giving me time to breeze past the prompt and open the door. the whole quest was really memorable. I hope things get better and the developers and producers make the right decisions to keep the game around for a long time without sacrificing the experience i love this game so far and would be heart broken to see it go.
ill attach some other screenshots of how i'm doing now. What do yall think is the best and worse case scenario with everything going on now and is there anything i can watch to catchup with whats happening in the community now
