OTF 1x/week only
36M, I started OTF back in 2022 as my standard gym was closing. Figured I’d try and see if it would be a good replacement. Six months in I saw a lot of progress, especially my cardio endurance. However, like many of others have stated on this sub, OTF doesn’t quite match dedicated strength training sessions at a gym and I really wanted to prioritize lifting more.
Earlier in 2024 I decided to start a 3x/week at a gym for lifting, and 1x/week at OTF. And I love it. I find I get a lot more out of that one OTF class as I am pushing myself hard each time. Where before my 3-4x/week OTF classes became stale. And I’ve seen a lot more gains in muscle mass with this setup.
Anyone else do something similar?
Edit: my schedule is the following for those who are wondering — Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Rest days or some walking T,Th,Sat. Alternate weeks with Upper, Lower, Upper, OTF, and then Lower, Upper, Lower, OTF. Repeat. Hitting all muscle groups with varying intensity week to week.
