Midnight Class Tips?
My studio is doing a 90min NYE class tonight that ends at midnight. For those that have done these types of special classes in the past, how do you set yourself up for success after? Any tips on helping the body calm down for sleep at a reasonable-ish hour? I also usually fuel after a workout with some carbs and protein, but I don't know that I'm going to want to eat that late.
I know the class will mess with my sleep some no matter what and I am excited for the novelty of it regardless, but I want to do whatever is within my control to make the negative impact less so I can enjoy my New Year's Day traditions, too.
Edit to update: While I had the best of intentions to follow the advice of everyone who took the time to share it, I came home from the workout and was handed a glass of champagne and a plate of cheese and crackers. I spent the first hour of the new year listening to music, eating hard to digest food, and drinking champagne. I did take a hot shower and mostly avoided screens, though! I got about 6.5 hours of sleep which is probably decent considering the circumstances. And ending the year with an all out was worth every minute I didn't snooze.
