TFL stay-a-float

So I have a small but strong leak in my tire (will go from 20psi to 0 in about 20 minutes), I tossed some stay-a-float in there and mixed it up and let it cure for an hour or two, long enough where the tire was holding air again. Then took it on a ride and it got flat in about 15 minutes to the point I’m riding on my lifesavers. I’ve currently left it to cure for almost I’d say 20 hours now, and I’m curious what other people’s times have been with it?

The bottle says it can patch holes up to 1/4 inch in diameter and mine is much smaller then that, but it also says it’s water soluble and considering the road was wet when I took it out, would riding in water ruin the patch it left in a hole? Or if I let it to cure for 24 hours does it harden past being water soluble??

Any info is greatly appreciated. I don’t WANT to have to buy a new tire but if it comes down to that I guess I could. I just don’t want to spend that money on myself right now with Christmas coming up. Me and my GF love riding too and I can’t ride both my wheels at the moment because of the hole so I’d love some help!
