Ranking Nottingham's cinemas

I was just discussing where to watch Dune, and I inadvertently created a ranking of the cinemas in and around Nottingham that I've been to.

I thought I'd post it here and see what everyone else thinks - I'm sure there are some controversial choices in here. Whatever the case, I'd still gladly watch a film in any of them. I love that we're spoiled for choice.

  1. Arc Hucknall
I really love the company, and I love the Hucknall branch in particular. Lovely friendly staff, feels like an old school cinema before massive multiplexes took over. Good quality picture and sound, good range of snacks, and they do some fun launch events. Parking can be a pain, and they've started buying in salted popcorn rather than popping their own (boo!) but I'm willing to overlook it because I love this place.
  2. Showcase
I worked for the company years ago at a different branch, and really didn't like some of their business practices. But the picture and sound are decent, the seats are really comfy and roomy, they either make their salty popcorn on site or buy it in fresh, and it's always easy to park there.
  3. Savoy
A proper throwback. Increasingly ropey, with sticky floors and awful seats, but always affordable and friendly. I often take our daughter to the kids' club screenings there. The place has got a lot of heart. I miss living in Lenton and having it just around the corner.
  4. Broadway
The cinema lovers' cinema. Great programme of screenings and events, I really like the cafe bar, and I've rented out their private screening room with some friends in the past. Should probably be higher, by rights, but I always feel like I'm not posh or well-educated enough to properly enjoy it. It's also the only one where I've been glared at by another patron for eating popcorn.
  5. Arc Beeston
Definitely loses something compared to Hucknall by being a big custom-built multiplex, but I still like the company. It's good quality, and I've got no real complaints apart from parking not always being easy. It just feels very middle-of-the-road to me. I've only been a couple of times though, maybe I need to give it another chance.
  6. Cineworld
Seats are naff and cramped, I hate how bright the lights are during a screening, and it all just feels a bit soulless and worn. One of my first jobs was working for this chain (well, when it was UGC) and they were a decent company to work for, it just feels like they're struggling and the cinema's long overdue for some renovation.

Have I missed any, or got anything horribly wrong? I'll admit I'm out of the loop (40 years old, don't get into town as much as I'd like these days) so please share your nuggets of wisdom.
