Top Tips for Northen Bass?

Hi all,

I have bought myself a 3-day ticket + camping pass, to Northen Bass 22/23. I have never been to a music festival before. But, I love DnB. I want to go to my first ever festival. So, instead of waiting to be invited to go with someone, I've just invited myself and I am going alone.

I've never done anything like this before. So I will need all of the top tips you can give me! Stuff that you have learned from your own experiences, i need your sacred knowledge. I am desperate for any insider info/tips you can give me! I will be going alone, and i want to be as prepared as possible so I wont feel so anxious about it. :-)

Here is a boat load of questions, answer one or two if you can. All info is appreciated!

  1. Is water provided for free onsite or do we have to buy pre filled water jugs outside of the festivals and bring it in with us?
  2. Can we bring a bigger tent? or a small tent and a gazebo? I just know i will need SHADE. Is there a defined limit to how much of that free real estate we can occupy?
  3. Is theft a problem? Anything I can do to prevent that at all?
  4. Are there onsite medics we can go see if we need to?
  5. How much money should i bring to put on the AWOP chip thing? I cant find info on costs of food and drinks, so im not sure how much money i will need for 3 days.
  6. They say they have a no drug policy (stated on their website), will they have a drug checking tent anyways? seems dumb not to...
  7. What kind of outfits do the girls usually wear? I am a jeans and top girl, all year round. I dont even own any shorts. If i do buy some shorts, will i fit in with the crowd fine? Cause when i try to search for typical outfits to raves and DnB gigs, I get pages of search results of chicks in bedazzled lingerie lmao. Which looks great but oh my god imagine the sunburn.
  8. How do we get all of our shit into the campsite? Do we just have to do a couple of trips through the line? or do you take it there in your car first then park your car?
  9. Once you are onsite can you leave at anytime? and then come back later in the day? like if I wanted to go to a local beach for a bit?
  10. How does everyone charge their phones so they can take pictures across all 3 days? should I just bring 3 fully charged portable batteries, one for a full charge each night?
  11. Do the toilets REALLY all start to overflow with waste after the second day? Ive heard some horror stories...
  12. Can i bring my prescription drugs with me? Or will i need a formal note from my GP stating that these are my prescriptions, before i take them into the festival with me? I dont want them to take any of my presecriptions away
  13. How thoroughly do they REALLY go through all your shit? Are we talking like the security level at an airport with sniffy dogs? Orrrrr is it more like a casual look in a chilly bin kinda vibe that you get before they let you into a six60 concert?? (asking for a friend)
  14. Should i be concerned about having my drink roofied or anything??? Should i buy one of those condom-looking things that go over your cup? I am a young woman going to northen bass on my own
  15. Best time to go to the showers?? Should i bring jandals to wear in the shower, so i dont catch a fungal foot thing??
  16. Should i buy some of those music festival type of earplugs?
  17. What is the situation with rubbish/recycling? Do they have bins there or do we have to take it all home with us?
  18. Should i bring my own Toilet paper? Do the toilets run out of TP?
  19. Their website says that you can only bring in snack foods with you, you cant bring anything that needs cooking. What kinds of snack foods would be best for me to bring. I dont want to live off of chips or shapes for 3 days straight. What kind of 'snack' meals do other people bring with them? Should i just bring bananas, protein bars, and those One Square Meal things?
  20. Im a bit worried about personal safety, as I am a young woman going alone. Is there anything I should be aware of before I go? Should i worry about being followed back to my tent?
  21. What essentials should i keep in my pockets (or in a fanny pack)?
  22. Are there any public areas to go and hangout where there is shade? or does everyone just sit in their tents all day sweating like pigs, until it cools down a bit and the music starts up again? Are there any big public-space type of tents, or public seating areas? Or trees to sit under?
  23. To get my stuff through the check in line, WITHOUT droping stuff along the way, could i bring one of those low, pull along trolley things? It would be easier to bring it in like that. Do you think ayone would anyone get anoyed at me for pulling a little trolley in the line?
