Discussion: how is your team doing?
Hi all,
I realized I’ve been hyperfocused on my team this year and lost track of what’s happening across the league. Part of this is leaving twitter, part is generally avoiding ESPN - but basically anything I hear about non ATL team trends is catching an occasional Locked On NBA pod.
Wanted to get feedback from the fans - how is your team doing halfway through the regular season?
What are you excited about? Any new players stepping up into larger roles and performing beyond expectations?
What’s been disappointing? Who are you worried is “cooked” (looking at you Bogi 👀)
If possible - I’d love to hear about things that don’t really catch headlines.
To give an example for my team:
- Hawks newish FO has won the confidence from most of our sicko fan base.
-They 100% “won” the Dejounte to Pelicans trade and giving Dyson Daniels a starting role has unlocked his DPOY caliber potential, rocketing the team into a good (not great) quality defense up from bottom 3 last couple of years.
-Zacc Rizzy has been a pleasant surprise and disappointment at the same time - he’s great at everything that isn’t 3p shooting, fundamental skills miles beyond any over 19y/o, team’s 2nd best defender already, but what we really needed him to be great at was… 3p shooting.
-We have legitimate problems keeping players healthy, and this is extremely scary because our future is tied to Jalen Johnson who is probably going to miss all-star / award considerations because of games played. We brought in a new medical staff from the SF 49’ers who have been dishonest in their public reports, not providing any updates at all until the day a player is suddenly available. Tied with Quinn’s extremely questionable load management decisions, our starters are on the court way too late in blowout wins AND losses - now we are down 4 of our top 6 scorers.
What’s going on with your team?
