Cade Cunningham had 30 different teammates last season. 14 of them are no longer in the NBA. Here's the list.
Last season was the worst season the Pistons have ever had (and was one of the worst years of my life.) Throughout it all, I never gave up on Cade and knew how special he was. But a lot of people thought he was bad because the Pistons weren't winning. Here is the unbelievable group of players that mostly played significant minutes for the Pistons last year, when Cade had THIRTY different teammates who suited up:
No Longer in the NBA:
- Buddy Boeheim
- Troy Brown Jr. (Started 12 Games)
- Malcolm Cazalon
- Malachi Flynn
- Evan Fournier
- Danilo Gallinari
- Joe Harris
- Killian Hayes (Started 31 Games)
- Kevin Knox (Started 11 Games)
- Isaiah Livers (Started 6 Games)
- Chimezie Metu (Started 7 Games)
- Mike Muscala (Started 4 Games)
- Jaylen Nowell
- Jared Rhoden
Technically Still in the NBA
- Marvin Bagley III
- Bojan Bogdanovic
- Alec Burks
- Tosan Evbuomwan (Started 8 Games)
- Taj Gibson
- Quentin Grimes (mostly injured, only played 6 games here)
- Shake Milton
- Monte Morris (mostly injured, only played 6 games here)
- Stanley Umude (Started 2 Games)
- James Wiseman (Started 6 Games)
Still on the Roster
- Jalen Duren
- Simone Fontecchio
- Jaden Ivey
- Marcus Sasser
- Isaiah Stewart
- Ausar Thompson
Anyway Cade Cunningham is that dude. He's always been that dude. Yes, he took a leap this year, but it turns out when you surround your franchise player with even halfway decent role-players and shooters, it allows him to flourish.
Thank you for your time.
