Equity MF SIP Allocation

I’m in early 20s and currently planning to restructure my equity mutual fund portfolio. To keep this discussion specific to equity MFs, let’s set aside fixed income or debt instruments for now.

I’ve decided on a market-cap-wise allocation of 1:1:1 across large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap funds. However, I’m a bit confused about choosing between actively managed funds, index funds, or a mix of both.
