Anyone watch The Passion of the Christ when it came out in theaters?

I just watched it for the first time and jeez, its rough. Paused a few times just to get a hold of myself lol but I can't imagine watching it live in a packed theater with so many other people. I asked my mom about it, and she said the theaters were completely packed when it came out. It got me wondering: for those of you who saw it during its original release, what was the theater experience like? How did people around you react? Was it quiet? Emotional?
