So I dropped my bike.

Hey everyone, I just dropped my bike. I am a new rider and just bought a Yamaha XSR 155 (https://i.imgur.com/aF55td0.jpg). So I am short person 165cm (5ft4) and my bike has a 810mm (31.9in) seat height. So on the motorcycle I couldn't get both feet on the ground even after tippy toeing to the max. I know that you dont necessarily need to be able to put both feet on the ground but I am still learning how to ride a motorcycle and that kinda scares me a bit.

So I watch a bunch of tutorials for short riders on youtube and wake up the next day excited. So I take my bike out, I try to go for a spin around the neighbourhood. As I start my bike and let go of the clutch I stall. Couldn't catch myself and ended up dropping my brand new bike which caused my clutch lever to bend and snap. Nothing else (thank god). Tbh that left me feeling quite embarassed. Anxious. Scared to try again. But at the same time I don't wanna give up.

So in order to make it easier to learn I'm looking to get a lowering kit for my bike and I've heard mixed opinions about whether I should or not.

Anyways, that's it. I just wanted to rant a bit and maybe get some advice from the community. If not thank you for reading my long post.

TL;DR: Short rider dropped new bike. Advice?
