Dremel for paint stripping?

hello, recently I bought a new locomotive for my layout, but the paint job is an infrastructure company and I want to change it, I already have the necessary paints for the paint job I'm looking to do but some parts of the original paint job have dark colors, which makes it harder to paint over, I don't own any paint remover but I have a wire brush bit for my Dremel, could I work it lightly over the paint to remove it or is this just a bad idea?
