My eyesight keeps changing day to day
49WM. I have worn contacts/eyeglasses since I was ~13 years old.
When I turned 40 my prescription began to change, and ultimately I needed bifocals (like many people in my age range). I've been doing well for a few years, but in the last year I seem to have struggled more.
When I wear my contacts, I need reading/"cheaters" to see my computer screen at work or my watch and cell phone. Things up close are blurry, but driving and distance viewing is clear.
When I wear my bifocal eyeglasses, I feel like I often have to aim my head up to read my computer screen in front of me. My optometrist has tilted the angle a bit to help, but it's still not ideal.
When I don't wear any eye aides. I can read a book, use my phone, etc. with no problem. I cannot clearly see a television 8' away, and driving would be a challenge.
I had an eye exam ~six weeks ago, and explained that I have readers to wear with the contacts, but it's a pain to carry them around all the time (I went to a bar one night and had to pull out my phone, use the flashlight and magnifier on the camera to read the menu). My eye doctor - who is great - is really working to find a pair of contacts that can give me near- and far-sighted views.
I've been trying samples for a week at a time. The issue is that on one day the samples can be great, but the next day my vision is blurry. Today is an example - I'm sitting in my same spot at my desk, same lights, same everything, and the text in this box isn't crisp. I can read it, but it has a bit of a halo or double-vision effect to everything. It didn't yesterday.
Blood pressure is fine. No headaches. I didn't sleep as well last night, so perhaps that's part of the challenge.
Can your vision change that much in a day? What might be going on? Thanks all!
