Controversial Opinion: A Groot that doesn't know what they're doing can actively hurt a team worse then having no supports.

First off, I don't want to disparage anyone playing Groot in Quickplay or against AI. Gotta learn the character somehow, but I played a few matches this weekend with different Groot players and noticed a lot of them tend to put up walls to block doors. While this isn't a bad idea when it comes to stalling a team from capping the point, these sorts of wall blocks are extremely detrimental to fights.

I've watched Groot players block line of sight, preventing supports from being able to heal teammates. I literally watched a Groot player block off an exit, leaving an Adam Warlock to 1v2 a Spider-Man and a Venom. I've watched Groot players throw up walls right in front of teammates messing up ults. These walls are powerful tools but if they're not used properly, they can be an absolute determent to the team.
