Just helped my MacBook Pro 13 2015 reduce the average temperature by about 10°C
The main noticeable change it is the fan noise. After adding the thermal pads, it became much harder to get the macbook's temperature above 80°C and to get the fans to work noisily, even under heavy load. Under heavy load, I found that the temperature increases very slowly and you need a lot more time (about 5-8 minutes more) to get to 70-80°C and above.
In my case, before adding the thermal pads, the average temperature was about 50-65°C during regular office work (about 20+ opened tabs in chrome, messangers and few simple apps opened). And after adding thermal pads it became to 45-55°C in similar working conditions.
As for the thermal pads, you will need about 1.5-2mm thick thermal pads to make sure they stick to the back cover of the laptop. Before modding, make sure the thermal paste in your Mac is in good condition and the cooler is clean (otherwise adding thermal pads will not make a noticeable difference).
