Magnets Needed for Venator

Hello all! I've wanted the Lepin Venator for months now, and as I am starting a new job I finally pulled the trigger.

I've read that this set requires magnets, but does not come with them due to overseas shipping. To anyone who has built this set, or has knowledge of it, I wondered two things:

1) Are the magnets absolutely necessary to the integrity of the build?

2) If magnets are needed, where can I find what kind I need, and where would they be sold?
