How many “Mr Gold” mini figures do you think are left unopened?

When I was younger, I remember when LEGO mini figure series 10 came out in the hype surrounding Mr. Gold. I remember hearing that there were about 5000 Mr Golds made, but I’m not sure if that number is accurate. How many do you guys think are left unopened?
