Small claims court for broken tv

Hello everyone,

Someone that was at my apartment broke my 1200 dollar tv and is refusing to take responsibility, I have text messages from the person admitting it, photos of the damage, and quotes from repair shops saying it isnt repairable. Would I be able to sue them in small claims and win? Are there any weak points the person could use to get out of it? I live in New York and I think the damage was accidental if that matters.
