Is the NIH postbac program cooked?

First time posting on this sub, but I'm a failed premed who has been looking for jobs after getting zero med school acceptances this year. I've always wanted to get more research experience and I had been heavily considering the NIH postbac before Trump threw everything into a frenzy. Now I don't know what to do and I'm feeling completely lost/confused/scared. My experiences and interests are much more heavily geared towards a physician who wants to do research and academic medicine, compared to someone interested in community health and primary care, so basic and clinical research would be the most beneficial to my narrative.

Has anyone who was recently been admitted into the postbac program been dismissed or laid off because of recent events? And should I wait until the situation clears up or the executive orders are reversed due to the obvious backlash? It's already kinda late to apply, and by late Feb or early March it would be way too late.
