Kindle changed my life

I got my first (only) Kindle on cybermonday sale right after Thanksgiving 2015. I cannot believe how many books I would not have read. I cannot believe how "against" e-readers I was because old me needed to feel the papers in my hands and smell the books.

Not only was my Kindle easy to get used to, I could not imagine just how much more I would read. I will always have my kindle on my desk and sometimes switch it on to read for a minute or two before going back to work (I wfh). I read while waiting on hold, I read while waiting for trains. Also, I love feature to quickly look up or "wiki" a word or phrase. The first series I read on kindle was called Malazan book of the fallen and it had a lot of words I was not familiar with.

Something else that I want to mention is how awesome connectivity between e-readers and local libraries are. I use the overdrive/libby apps and constantly have a shit ton of books on hold or checked out without having stepped foot in the library in 5+ years haha.

To end this random wall of text, I just wanted to say that today, after over 9 years of very regular use, my kindle Paperwhite 2 is no longer charging :(. Well, it won't hold a charge. It still charges and works for a bit after but then dies very quickly. I am not the most responsible person, so I am very proud that I managed to get 9 years out of this device without it breaking or being lost. Still, it is hard to believe it's been so long, but I guess I need a new one. I don't need anything too fancy or bigger than what I got now.

Anyway, have a great day everyone.

Edit: I don't know what motivated me post haha. Like a combo of how long I managed to get out of the device as well as just how great kindles are lol. Didn't expect so many ppl to read it and upvote or comment. Thank you all!
