Convince me to buy a kindle
I was always 100% in favor of reading physical books than ebooks. Aside from being able to hold the book itself and turn the pages, I also enjoy the process of buying a book—from walking into a bookstore (I love the smell of bookstores and books!) to checking out and browsing the shelves of books and hand picking a book I want to read.
On the other hand, I know ebooks would only give me a headache from reading from a screen for hours (iPad in my case), the lighting would hurt my eyes, and i feel like it wouldn’t be the same as reading a physical book. I know it just wasn’t for me.
Because I was pressed for time and lack of research, I recently bought a book which requires me to read the trilogy before that to understand and appreciate it even better. Since I wanted to read it right away, I was forced to find an ebook of the trilogy and said I would try reading on my iPad. I ended up finishing the ebook and I’m currently reading the second book (still ebook). Wasn’t so bad after all.
I never thought I would ever consider buying a kindle but now I’m about 80% leaning into getting one. Did my research and I’m planning to get the Kindle paperwhite 24. I know I won’t be reading ebooks all the way, I’d still get physical books from time to time even with a kindle. And it’s not like I’m saying bye to physical books forever. I don’t know what’s stopping me but I’m still having second thoughts.
Convince me please! Is it worth it? How cheap are ebooks than physical books? What are the pros and cons of getting a kindle vs. physical book? How are your experiences with a kindle? What kind of kindle do you have?
TLDR: Always been a physical book reader. Convince me to buy a kindle.
