Does watching videos about rules suffice ?

I've read somewhere that the rules on the app weren't enough, but the price of the core book is a bit expensive. I found videos on the internet talking about the movement, shooting, charging rules, how to buil the board etc, but are they enough to play a regular and clean kill team game ?
