When did you find your 'thing'?

The question 'what do you want to be' has had a history of causing me to latch onto any and every acute interest to yield an answer, until I have to work for them. I've wanted to be a musician, a graphic designer, a therapist - all things I would be happy doing - but the work to become those things stop me from 'being' any.

What did you find you were willing working for, when/how did you find it, and what was/is it?

For context - after I left college, I spent two years at home focusing on drumming (while working on the side). It could've been something I took further, but I was threatened by the work. I thought therapy was something I was willing to working for, which I'm currently studying for (first year psychology), but this feels even more threatening than music, and is making me reconsider what I'm willing to work for.
