Why is there so much ignorance about mental illness among muslims?

I am diagnosed with Anxiety and Depression disorder and suffer from Intrusive Thoughts. Whenever I search for dua or advice for my condition, the answers basically say, "these are whispers of shaytan" or "it's because you are committing sin and straying away from Allah."

I talk to other muslims and they say the same thing. Except from my mother and one friend who (mashallah) understand.

I had a phase where I used to be like that too but Allah has humbled me.

Anxiety is not normal stress. Depression is not normal sadness. Intrusive Thoughts are not normal negative thoughts or shaytan whispers. They are actual illnesses. They have physical symptoms like attacks, suffocation, fatigue, fever, mania, etc. They take away your ability to function like a normal person just like a physcial illness does. And if you ignore it, it gets worse just like a physical illness.
