I finally got an offer!
So I recently moved to a new city and had originally lined up a job, but after two weeks both parties decided it wasn't a good fit. It's been about a month since then and I've been literally applying to anything that would pay my bills. I was just getting ghosted constantly. It was really starting to take a toll on me. This week I had 5 interviews scheduled. 3 of them for today. By the time I was done with the first two I had a bit of time before the last and I remember having a fleeting thought of just canceling because the position was in an industry I haven't had great working experience with in the past. But I put on my best attitude and joined the team interview. They did ask a bunch of questions about my past experiences since they were in unrelated industries and I had a solid answer and example for everything. They told me they had a few more interviews and they wanted to decide by tomorrow afternoon. We ended the call and went about my day. Well, 30 minutes later my phone rang but I was busy and didn't pick it up. When I looked at my phone I had a text from the interviewer asking me to call them back, so I did, and they talked after I left the meeting and decided they were going to cancel their remaining interviews and offer me the position at a higher rate than they listed in the job posting!!! I obviously accepted and am just waiting for the official offer letter. I start on December 9th!
I don't know what exactly I did or said differently in that interview than the countless others I did this month, but damn, it feels so good knowing they saw something in me and immediately offered me the position.
Good luck out there and don't let the ghosting or rejections get you down. I know it's hard, but keep after it!
