How do I actually make friends as an adult?
I’m in my mid-20s, done with school, and now fully in the "adulting" world where everyone’s busy and friend groups seem… well, closed. I moved to a new city recently, and I’m starting to realize that making friends as an adult is way harder than I expected.
Back in college, it felt so natural — you'd just strike up a conversation in class or at a party, and boom, instant friend. Now, it’s like everyone already has their circle, and I’m just floating around on my own. I’ve tried some meetups and even a few work happy hours, but everything feels kind of surface-level and awkward.
So, internet parents, how do you genuinely connect with people when you’re not in school anymore? Is there some magic trick to this that no one ever told me about? Or do I just have to embrace being the solo person at brunch forever? 😅
Would love any tips or even stories from anyone who’s managed to break through the adult friendship struggle!
