Infantile spasms with no Hypsarrhythmia?

Hi all,

Since my LO was about two weeks he started to "fight" to go to sleep. Like he would fuss and crunch his body repeatedly when i would rock him to sleep. I didn't know about infantile spasms then so i thought that just the way he was. A week before he was 12 weeks old i went to the GP with him because he did the crunching movement a few times over and over again when he woke up from his nap. It's like he wants to roll over but doesn't quite do it yet. I took a video and went to the doctor. He referred me to the pediatrician immediately and they ordered an EEG. A few days later we did the EEG and then didn't hear anything for a few weeks while we were waiting for results.

Cue a weeks ago when they called me saying they suspect he has infantile spasms and to come to the office right away. There they tell me that they want to do an EEG in 3 months again because the EEG gave some irregularity but they don't know if its because of movement during the test or epilepsy?? They told me they don't see any hypsarrhythmia but weird spikes. The neurologist said that the EEG doesn't tell them anything but the video does? Basically they started him on Keppra "just in case" while we wait for a repeat EEG in 3 months.

We have an echo of his head that we are waiting on getting an appointment for and we have a follow up appointment with the pediatrician next week.

We haven't started the Keppra yet because we are not so sure with nothing really on the EEG.

So my question is this: has anyone had an infantile spasm diagnosis with no clear EEG? He is now 15 weeks btw.
