Please help a fatso to get in shape.
Neglected my health this year entirely due to exam prep and have reached my highest weight level of 102kgs. Although I have started going to the gym regularly for past 1 week, I am still unclear what should be my best approach for weight loss should be. I have been getting mixed opinions of doing cardio or doing weight training to reduce the weight faster but not a clear approach. Plus, my trainer is not helpful, and he keeps busy with female customers most of the time.
I am currently doing 10 mins treadmill at 6kmph so approx 1km walking, 10 mins of cycling, 40 squats with 5kg weight, 40 toe touches, 4 sets of multiple weight lifting gym machines that I don't know names of right now and end it with 10 mins of more treadmill walking at 5kmph. I spend approx 1 hour 10 mins daily in gym.
Additionally, I have tried to eliminate as much sugar as possible from my diet. Stopped eating rice that I used to in my lunch. My breakfast now is usually just a fruit salad, lunch is 3 rotis with dal and sabzi, dinner is also 3 rotis with dal and sabzi. I have also purchased pintola peanut butter that I plan to eat for breakfast. Plus replaced normal 2 time tea with green tea in the morning and cup of milk in night. I have asked the trainer for diet but didn't receive something yet.
If people here can help me with my diet and clear what should I focus more in gym on, I would be very grateful. Should I increase my time on treadmill and cycle, or should I train with weights more? Plus, how can I optimize my diet the most for weight loss, as there is a family function in February and I wish to lose as much weight as possible till then. My family are vegetarians, so the most I can eat is egg in the home but I can eat eggs outside and I can eat chicken too outside but not regularly as it would be too costly.
