Am I being too paranoid about staying in an OYO with my girlfriend, or is my concern valid?
I’ll be visiting my girlfriend in her city soon, and I plan to stay in an OYO for a couple of days. While we were discussing my stay and how we’d spend the time, she casually mentioned that we don’t need to be super focused on sightseeing and could just relax in the room if we have nothing else to do.
Now, here’s the thing: I’m really uneasy about the idea of staying in the room with her. OYO rooms have a reputation when it comes to couples, and movies like Masaan and some news stories I’ve come across have left me feeling anxious about the possibility of things going wrong. Even if we’re not being intimate or doing anything questionable, I can’t shake the fear that we might get caught up in a scam or face some kind of issue.
When I brought this up with her, she said I was overthinking it. Unfortunately, it turned into a bit of a fight. She’s upset because she feels like my paranoia is hard to believe, and she thinks there might be something else I’m hiding. She even pointed out that most guys wouldn’t think twice about being alone with their girlfriend in a private space, which makes my concern seem suspicious to her.
So now I’m stuck wondering if I’m genuinely being overly paranoid or if my concerns are valid. Are scams or issues like this common in India, or am I blowing this out of proportion? I’d really appreciate any advice or perspective.
Thanks in advance!
