Fedex and Telecom Scam

Recently me and my family have been receiving multiple calls a day from numbers starting with +670 (Telecom scam) and +870 (Fedex scam).

The telecom scam works like this: When you answer the call, an automated voice tells you "Your telecom connection will be disconnected in 2 hours due to non payment of dues. To speak with our customer care, please press 9". When you press 9, the scammer attends the call and asks you what the issue is. When you explain that you received a call and was told your connection with be disconnected, they will convince you to pay them money to fix the issue. They will tell its just a deposit and will be refunded. They will not and you will be scammed out of your entire savings.

The fedex scam works like this: When you answer the call, the other person will tell you that you are to receive a package but its stuck in korean customs or US customs. "You have to pay 2000 or 3000 as customs duties to get your package".

My father initially believed the fedex scam but before paying anything he consulted me. I was able to clear things out. While my father had me, there are so many other senior citizens who dont have anyone else to consult and fall prey to such scams. Recently we are receiving atleast 2 calls a day. Blocking them doesnt help since they keep calling from multiple numbers.

Is there no resolution for this? Why are the cyber police not taking any action?
