Will a battery replacement also improve performance

As the title says, I'm debating whether or not to replace my battery. It's at 71% and I have to charge it about twice a day at this point. Im okay with that but my phone feels slow/laggy at times and I wonder if a new battery will fix this. Anyone with experience/insight?
