Question about recent repairs done
TLDR version: Is it possible for inducer motor and pressure switch to fail at the same time? How rare is that?
Longer version: One of our heaters stopped working earlier this week. HVAC guy came out and said the inducer motor had gone bad. They ordered and came back out next day to change it out.
After working on it for a while and then me hearing them on a phone call, they tell me that the pressure switch is also bad and has to be changed out as well. I asked if two components failing at the same time is common; they just said it does happen.
They replaced the switch as well and all is well and good now, but my curiosity is having me wonder if it really is realistic for those two parts to go out in tandem. Or, is it possible the switch broke during motor replacement and they are trying to pass it off as both having failed at the same time to pass off liability?
