Advice please 🤦🏻‍♀️

I brought home a beautiful Areca palm a little over two weeks ago and managed to keep my cats out of it aside from a few stray leaves here and there

That is, until I went on a 5 day trip and my house sitter paid zero attention to my little monsters obliterating my plant 🤦🏻‍♀️ how do I recover from this? Should I trim off all the chewed up leaves? Do I leave it be and just keep tending it as normal? I’m so frustrated, it looked so pretty and now it looks like it went through a shredder ☠️

I love my cats, but they’re terrible with new plants until they get bored trying to get into them and forget about them.
