Caught 2 women red-handed. Broke into my SUV

Okay here's the scenario, a couple days ago I was doing my normal daily routines, I had worked my community service, had done my laundry,, after that I stopped by the rec center for a shower. All of this on public transportation so I don't get any more trouble for driving when I'm not supposed to be.

I was feeling pretty good, hot showers are always nice. I was walking with my large duffel bag full of clean laundry, back, as I turn the corner to the road where I leave my SUV parked I noticed my back door was open. Well I live in there with my three cats, so my heart sank, and even with all of my laundry in my big duffle bag, I took off running as fast as I could and I yelled "the fuck are you doing in my truck?"

It was dark and I didn't know what to expect. When I got to my SUV it was two women a mother and daughter who had recently come into the area with the morher's boyfriend. They have two cars and one was broken down, the boyfriend was across the street trying to fix his car. Yes there were car parts out and oil everywhere it really was broke down and he really was trying to fix it. They are also homeless.

I definitely scared them, they told me they were there because they hadn't seen anybody in or around my truck for three days, basically the whole time that they were in the area, saw the cats and felt like maybe they were abandoned or someone had died and they were trying to rescue them.

Their story checks out because they had cat carriers with them and when I walked up one of them was holding one of my cats who never lets anybody hold him.

We had a little conversation as I calmed down but the next morning I moved my truck away to my other safe spot. And I don't plan on going back into that area anytime soon. I don't fucking trust anybody especially when it comes to my kitties

I got lucky that my timing was just right. Had I missed the bus connection or anything else would have gone wrong, even 30 minutes later my cats would have been gone.

So now I have extra steps that I have to take to make sure my truck's not so easy to break into. I disconnect the battery now every time before I'm going to leave that way the power door lock button cannot be depressed but pull in the door open a little bit and using a rod to push the button and unlock my doors.

This also adds another great layer of anxiety on top of an already huge amount of bullshit from having to live this way. It seems you can't even trust kind-hearted people because even though these women seem to have good intentions they still broke in to somebody else's vehicle without really knowing the situation.

Out here even well intentioned idiots are dangerous too.
