Accidentally submitted lyrics friends work (that I did not copy) to Schoology as my first submission
I’m actually freaking the fuck out rn. Context: So I had an “essay” response due for this class. I asked my friend about how long it should be and they sent me theirs to show off how much they wrote and said not to copy. I don’t copy people’s work anyways as I prefer my own writing so I downloaded it to open it, glanced through it, and moved on with my day. I actually did not reference it at all when writing mine. It was due when school ended so I was rushing during my 7th period to finish it. My laptop started tweaking so I rushed to access it from my phone download it to my files and submitted it.
Lo and behold I realized too late I somehow subconsciously named the file THE SAME EXACT THING my friend did and in a rush my file hadn’t loaded into my phone yet so I submitted my friend’s instead. And they have their name on it first thing. I ofc submitted a second submission and later a third I revised as my final copy minutes before the deadline.
Our essay contents and formats are completely different despite answering the same question. Im pretty that on Schoology it shows the teacher your most recent submission. However, I’m just so scared that what if somehow he decided to check the first submission and sees my friends name there and thinks we plagiarized each other. I know what I did was stupid but I genuinely don’t know how tf I would be able to convince him and worse I don’t want to drag my friend down because of my mistake
What do I do? Do I email my teacher? Do I pray he just checks my most recent submission and ignores the rest?
