Just finished watching True Detective season 1 for the third time, and don't know how I ever missed this before....

I worked at a hospital in St Bernard Parrish before and during hurricane Katrina. We were trapped there with 14 feet of water around us, no power, electricity or security before being air evac'd out via Chinook helicopters after five days, and sent to Lafayette General hospital.

In the final scene of the season, Marty and Rust are seen checking out of Lafayette General Hospital.
