Why is Dumbledore dropping hints about the Deathly Hallows to the trio?
Like, it is truly a distraction from Horcruxes. Voldemort only wants the Elder Wand, which ends up becoming Harry’s due to a technicality, not because Harry did something on his Hallows quest. The cloak was already Harry’s. The resurrection stone gives Harry comfort to walk to his death but my man was making the walk already.
Why embed the stone in the Snitch? Why draw the sign of the Hallows on Hermione’s book? What is the point of exposing them to the Hallows? Why make that such a big part of their inheritance, and put it in one’s will before dying knowing what the main priority is?
Does Dumbledore think Harry needs to be the Master of Death to defeat Voldemort? Does he think, without Dumbledore, Harry needs all three to actually take on Voldemort and win?
It all feels like a cool mystery that becomes nothing by the end of the book.
